"Every man's memory is his private literature."
-- Aldous Huxley

Greetings from Seacraft Classics,

Susie and I are getting ready to go back East to celebrate my 50th college reunion at Lafayette College in Easton, PA in the beginning of June. I am looking forward to visiting with friends we have not seen for many years.

Reunions are a time to look back, and so I've been thinking about memory and the power it has in our lives. It is fascinating to me that memory is often linked with either highs or lows in life. We either hope to forget difficult experiences, or we look to treasure memories of enjoyable or peak experiences. Even 50 years on, college was a formative and peak experience for many of us, so it is no surprise that many of us retain clear memories of those times.

One of the things I frequently hear from customers is the joy they receive from their boats and boating experiences. It's a passion for us, and so it makes sense that memories are vivid in this realm.

Although I didn't know it when we started this business, it is clear to me now that building boat models helps reinforce these memories for boat owners. One of the real pleasures of doing this work for so many years is looking at the wide variety of shapes and sizes of boats that we've built.

One can get a sense of this variety by looking at just 3 of the models we delivered this past month - a 1981 Burger 83 for its owner, a Boston Whaler Conquest 345 with tower for a Caribbean dealer, and a J44 for a current owner who actively races his boat.

Regardless of the type of boat you have, it will always make a great model to help rekindle fond memories of time spent on the water.

Give me a call at 1-800-356-1987 or email me at howard@seacraftclassics.com to connect on building a model of your boat. I'll help you fill out a Custom Model Information Form (PDF) from the web site so we have the information needed to begin the commission. You can also request a quote on a custom model 24/7 right here.

Wishing you smooth cruising and sunny days,Wishing you fair winds and smooth sailing,
